Job Description
- Grow a team of ML experts within the Wearables AI team
- Develop technical vision, long-term strategy and set direction for the team and the organization
- Drive execution of developing models and systems that are crucial to the end user experience
- Communicate, collaborate and build relationships with product and peer teams to facilitate cross-functional projects
- Remain up-to-date on ongoing software development activities in the team, help work through technical challenges and be involved in design decisions
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in large language model, NLP, and or speech processing areas, in both research and engineering settings
- 5+ years of experience recruiting, building, structuring, and leading technical organizations, including performance management
- 2+ years of experience in building decent sized organization and supporting managers
- Experience in developing large-scale AI systems
- Experience with cross-functional collaboration with product and platform teams, as well as non-engineering functions
- PhD in deep learning, artificial intelligence, speech processing and/ or a related technical field
- Experience and knowledge of ML frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc
- Experience and knowledge of working with LLM frameworks, especially LLaMa and LLaVA
- Experience and knowledge of working with speech dialog/ conversational AI systems, sentiment analysis, multi-lingual or contextualized speech processing, user evaluation
