Job DescriptionThe Medical Officer (AFIH Certified) is responsible for overseeing occupational health services at the thermal power plant site, ensuring compliance with statutory health regulations and promoting employee well-being. The role includes managing medical emergencies, conducting health surveillance, and implementing preventive health programs. The incumbent must be willing to work in rotational shifts and will play a key role in maintaining health standards for a large workforce operating in a high-risk industrial environment.
Key Result Areas (Key Performance Indicators)
Provide medical care and emergency response for plant personnel; manage occupational illnesses and injuries.
Ensure compliance with Factory Act, Mines Act, and other applicable health regulations; maintain medical records and reports as per AFIH guidelines.
Conduct periodic health check-ups, pre-employment medicals, and fitness assessments for employees and contract workers.
Supervise the operation of on-site medical center, ambulance services, and emergency preparedness.
Implement awareness campaigns on lifestyle diseases, hygiene, ergonomics, and mental health.
Maintain statutory health registers, Form 25, Form 32, and other documentation required by regulatory authorities.
Be available for shift duties and ensure readiness for medical emergencies during all operational hours.
