KPIT is seeking an experienced Linux System Administrator L2/L3 to manage and optimize our RedHat, Ubuntu, and Rocky Linux environments. This role requires strong Linux skills with managing virtualization (VMware or Proxmox), with a focus on high availability, security, and efficient troubleshooting.
Responsibilities:
Advanced Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex, escalated issues in Linux environments (RedHat, Ubuntu, Rocky Linux) that L1/L2 support teams cannot handle. Perform root cause analysis and implement preventative measures.
System Administration: Manage and maintain Linux servers, including installation, upgrades, configuration, patching, and performance monitoring.
Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts (Bash/Python) to automate system administration tasks and Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible Puppet or Chef.
Performance Management: Monitoring system health (using tools like Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus) and resolving performance issues.
Infrastructure Project Support: Contribute to the planning and execution of infrastructure projects, including system upgrades and migrations
Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Experience: 5-8 years of experience in Linux system administration.
Linux Expertise: Strong, in-depth knowledge of Linux distributions including RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Ubuntu, and Rocky Linux.
Certifications: Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or relevant certification preferred.
Virtualization: Hands-on experience with VMware and Proxmox virtualization platforms.
Scripting: Proficiency in Bash and Python scripting.
Configuration Management: Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
Monitoring Tools: Experience with monitoring and logging systems (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, ELK Stack).
Networking: Basic Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, routing, and other networking concepts.
Security Knowledge: Understanding of Linux security principles, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and vulnerability management.
Communication Skills: Excellent technical communication skills both written and verbal. Ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
