Job Description
Ally Bank is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Security Engineer with deep expertise in Palo Alto firewall management. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining firewall rule bases, handling decommission requests, and managing monthly maintenance activities. The role involves ensuring secure and efficient network operations aligned with business needs.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Senior Network Engineer or Network Administrator.
Strong background in network administration and architecture.
Deep understanding of TCP/IP, PKI, certificates, and communication protocols.
Familiarity with network access control and security models.
Experience with network diagnostic and monitoring tools.
Excellent troubleshooting and independent working skills.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Desired Skills:
- Extensive hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewall configuration and management.
- Knowledge of Panorama for centralized firewall management.
- Experience with network security policies, NATs, rules, and profiles.
- Familiarity with web traffic filtering and optimization.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Perl) for automation.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update Palo Alto firewall rule base as per business requirements.
- Process decommission requests with proper documentation and execution.
- Manage monthly maintenance activities with minimal operational disruption.
- Configure and install network devices and services (e.g., firewalls, VPNs).
- Troubleshoot escalated issues across cloud and on-prem infrastructure.
- Automate network tasks and validate their effectiveness.
- Monitor network performance and ensure high availability.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
- Recommend improvements for network security, scalability, and performance.
