Develop and manage storage technologies, SAN disaster recovery technologies, business continuity components and procedures.
Solves storage performance issues and handles requests through the service desk.
Provide guidance to storage administrators.
Coordinates upgrade / maintenance activities
Work with vendors to ensure the environment is properly implemented, configured, managed, and maintained.
Works with multiple teams (DBA, Servers, Networks, and applications) and Project Managers to deliver storage solutions.
Fine tunes and creates procedures that can be handed down to operational team members as well as create / modify Maintenance Operation Protocols (MOPs) for change control items.
Strong technical written and verbal communication skills (Technical writing and Documentation of Infrastructure)
Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a small business environment
Customer service oriented.
Monitor storage and backup performance, capacity, and health using appropriate tools and dashboards.
Implement and maintain data protection policies, including backup schedules, retention policies, and disaster recovery plans.
Perform regular audits and testing of backup and restore procedures.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application and database backup requirements.
Maintain documentation for storage and backup configurations, procedures, and policies.
Participate in on-call rotation and provide support during off-hours as needed.
Stay updated with the latest developments in storage and backup technologies.
