Job Description
Role & responsibilities
- 6 to 12 years of strong experience in Database Development which include Relational and Dimensional Modelling, Database Concepts and Oracle Architecture, Performance Tuning, SQL and PL/SQL Programing
- Clear and good track record throughout academics. Engineering/MCA from recognized and reputed institute.
- Very strong knowledge of data warehousing and BI concepts such as Star / Snowflake schemas, SCD, Datamart, ODS.
- Deep understanding of SQL and query optimization to minimize latency and maximize throughput. Able to generate and understand Explain Plan, Auto Trace, write complex queries using Analytical functions, regular expressions, etc.
- In-depth experience on Oracle Database and PL/SQL with a good grasps of advance features for example Bulk Collect, Bulk Insert, Collections / Associative array, Exception Handling, Materialized Views, Schedulers, Tables and Index partitioning, Pragmas, DBMS_PROFILER, knowledge of Oracle data dictionaries etc.
- Very strong in performance tuning, troubleshooting issues, AWRs, ADDM, OEM.
- Extremely comfortable working with very large and complex data sets; candidates with experience on Big Data will be preferable.
- Proven experience on Database source code control, Build preparation and Deployment.
- Experience of database migration projects (e.g. Oracle 10g to 11g, Sybase to Oracle.)
- End to end experience across software development lifecycle with focus on quality and diligence in everything we do.
- Ability to engage and establish relationships with business users, peers and managers across different departments, geographies and time zones.
- Self-starter with ability to adapt to changing business priorities and to work on multiple tasks in parallel.
- Team Player with strong inclination towards mentoring and knowledge sharing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Sense of ownership, problem solving ability, deeply analytical with attention to detail.
