Job Description
Altimetrik is looking for a skilled Data Engineering + Data Modelling Developer who brings a strong understanding of data architecture, design, and implementation. The ideal candidate will spend approximately 70% of their time on Data Modelling and 30% on Data Engineering efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement efficient and scalable data models for analytical and operational use cases.
- Develop and maintain dimensional, relational, and NoSQL data models based on business requirements.
- Collaborate with data architects, business analysts, and engineering teams to understand data requirements and translate them into robust models.
- Perform data profiling, data quality checks, and validation for source and target systems.
- Support ETL/ELT pipelines by developing reusable data components and managing data flows.
- Ensure data models are aligned with business goals and platform capabilities.
- Contribute to performance tuning, indexing strategies, and optimization of queries and models.
- Participate in code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong experience (6-9 years) in Data Modelling conceptual, logical, and physical.
- Expertise in tools such as Erwin, PowerDesigner, or similar.
- Hands-on experience in data engineering using SQL, Python, Spark, or Scala.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, OLTP/OLAP systems, and normalization techniques.
- Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) is a plus.
- Familiarity with modern data architectures such as Data Lakes and Lakehouse models is preferred.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
