Job Description
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our Catastrophic Modelling (CAT) tools development team in Hyderabad, India. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the CAT modelling platform with a strong focus on backend technologies, cloud infrastructure, and data management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain components of the Catastrophic Modelling platform.
- Implement backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
- Design and manage data storage solutions using SQL Server.
- Develop and manage cloud infrastructure using AWS and Terraform.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, actuaries, and cloud engineers to improve platform capabilities.
- Ensure platform scalability, security, and performance optimization.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging.
- Contribute to the full software development lifecycle following Agile methodologies.
- Document technical designs, solutions, and processes.
Required Skills & Experience
- 4-8 years of experience in software engineering with a focus on backend development.
- Strong programming skills in Java and experience with Spring Boot.
- Proficiency in SQL Server for database design and querying.
- Experience with AWS cloud services(EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Understanding of cloud infrastructure, security, and deployment best practices.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience with Angular or React for front-end development.
- Familiarity with Catastrophic Modelling concepts and tools.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
