Role & responsibilities
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst (BA) with a strong background in Digital and Mobile delivery to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in delivering complex digital initiatives, ideally within the financial services sector, and a strong understanding of mobile platforms, customer experience, and agile delivery models.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with product owners, business stakeholders, and delivery teams to capture, document, and validate business requirements for digital/mobile initiatives.
- Translate high-level business needs into detailed functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Support digital transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with business strategy, compliance, and customer experience goals.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers, developers, testers, and other BAs to ensure smooth and efficient delivery.
- Participate in backlog grooming, sprint planning, and sprint reviews in agile environments.
- Conduct impact analysis for changes to processes, systems, and workflows.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and discussions to gather insights and drive consensus.
- Monitor delivery progress, identify risks, and work with teams to mitigate issues.
- Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and adhere to HSBC guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst in digital/mobile delivery projects.
- Strong understanding of mobile applications, web platforms, APIs, and integration points.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum delivery practices.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, global, and regulated environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with BA tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Visio, Balsamiq).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the banking/financial services sector.
- Certification in Agile (Scrum Master/Product Owner) or Business Analysis (CBAP, BCS).
