Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance Perl scripts to automate processes and data integration tasks.
- Design and implement efficient SQL queries for interacting with Oracle databases.
- Collaborate with the database team to optimize and troubleshoot complex database queries.
- Create and manage database objects such as tables, views, procedures, and triggers in Oracle.
- Write complex PL/SQL procedures and functions to support application functionalities.
- Perform database performance tuning and query optimization in Oracle environments.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues with Perl scripts and Oracle database queries.
- Write clear documentation for Perl scripts, database schemas, and processes.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
- Maintain, test, and upgrade existing Perl and Oracle-based applications.
Required Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Perl programming (including experience with Perl modules and frameworks).
- Solid experience with Oracle databases , including database design, optimization, and tuning.
- Proficient in SQL and PL/SQL .
- Experience working with large data sets and performing data transformations.
- Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with data integration techniques, APIs, and batch processing.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with UNIX/Linux shell scripting .
- Familiarity with Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters) and Data Guard .
- Knowledge of Web Services and integration techniques.
- Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
- Familiarity with tools like Oracle SQL Developer , Toad , or PL/SQL Developer .
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Perl development and working with Oracle databases.
Additional Information:
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
