Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Security Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of our network and security infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in firewall administration, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPNs, and network security best practices. This role demands strong analytical skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work across cross-functional teams to ensure our systems remain secure and resilient.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage network security architecture, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, proxies, and secure access solutions.
- Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests; remediate findings in coordination with system and application owners.
- Monitor, investigate, and respond to network security events and incidents using SIEM and other tools.
- Implement and maintain firewall rules, ACLs, NATs, and security policies across multiple platforms (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA).
- Manage and support secure connectivity for cloud and on-prem environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security into infrastructure and application design.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and practices to enhance network and data protection.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of network security architecture, procedures, and policies.
- Ensure compliance with internal security policies and external regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, NIST).
- Lead or assist in incident response and forensic investigations when security breaches occur.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in network security engineering roles.
- Expertise in firewall technologies (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco).
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, TCP/IP, VPNs, DNS, routing, and switching.
- Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel).
- Familiarity with cloud security tools and architectures (AWS Security Hub, Azure Defender, etc.).
- Proficient in scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automation and security tooling.
- Strong understanding of security frameworks and compliance requirements (e.g., CIS, NIST, SOC 2).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
