MongoDB Database Administrator (DBA)

MongoDB - 70% | Postgresql - 30%

Exp: 5 - 8 yrs

Loc: Bangalore

We are seeking an experienced MongoDB Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize our database infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in MongoDB (70%) and PostgreSQL (30%) and will be responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, and security of databases in a production environment.

Terraform : good to have

Ansible, Jenkins, Groovy(infrastructure automation with DevOps knowledge) : required

Coding basics(loop handling, exception handling etc.) : required

Cloud basic knowledge : required

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and administer MongoDB and PostgreSQL databases with a focus on MongoDB.
• Handle production database environments, ensuring uptime and optimal performance.
• Perform backup, restore, replication, and disaster recovery operations.
• Conduct routine database maintenance, upgrades, and performance tuning.
• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues proactively.
• Implement and manage automation tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, and Terraform to streamline DBA tasks.
• Write and maintain shell scripts for automation and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams on database architecture and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a MongoDB DBA in a production environment.
• Strong working knowledge of PostgreSQL database administration.
• Hands-on expertise in backup and recovery, replication, and disaster recovery planning.
• Proficient in database monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Experience with automation tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, and Terraform (preferred).
• Solid experience in shell scripting (e.g., Bash, KornShell).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
