Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Principal Infrastructure Architect to lead the design and delivery of enterprise infrastructure solutions across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in IT infrastructure, service management, cloud strategy, and client engagement. This role is critical in driving innovation, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction within our managed services portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Design
- Design and architect end-to-end managed infrastructure solutions across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid models.
- Develop technical blueprints, reference architectures, and service catalogs.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients in areas such as Enterprise Service Management, AIOps, and Infrastructure Monitoring.
- Present AIOps strategies and solution roadmaps to clients.
- Define disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity plans aligned with client requirements.
Technical Leadership
- Lead infrastructure assessments and audits for new and existing clients.
- Provide strategic guidance on cloud adoption, modernization, and automation.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement provisioning, monitoring, and orchestration solutions.
- Oversee the integration of performance monitoring and alerting tools.
Service Management & Operations
- Design and implement ITIL-based service management processes.
- Define and operationalize SLAs, runbooks, and support workflows.
- Lead the development of incident, problem, and change management processes.
- Ensure alignment of infrastructure operations with ITSM best practices.
Client Engagement & Pre-Sales
- Serve as the technical SME in client meetings, workshops, and solution demos.
- Provide ongoing consultation and optimization recommendations post-deployment.
- Support pre-sales efforts through solutioning, proposals, and technical validations.
Required Qualifications
Technical Expertise
- 15+ years in IT infrastructure architecture and management.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of:
- Virtualization: VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, KVM
- Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP (multi-cloud & hybrid preferred)
- Storage Solutions: SAN, NAS, cloud storage
- Backup/DR: Veeam, Commvault, Azure Backup
- Networking: Routing, switching, firewalls, load balancing
- Databases: SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL
- Monitoring Tools: SCOM, Nagios, Datadog, New Relic
- Endpoint Management: SCCM, Intune, or equivalent
Service Management
- ITIL Foundation Certification (Expert/Master preferred).
- Experience with ITSM tools: ServiceNow, Remedy, Jira Service Management.
- Knowledge of DevOps and cloud operations practices.
- Proficiency with automation tools: Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell.
Additional Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- Industry certifications: AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Architect, VMware VCP, etc.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Experience in a consulting or managed services environment.
- Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO, NIST, SOC2).
- Project management exposure (PMP/PRINCE2 preferred).
