Job Description
- Establish, conduct and monitors the collection of instruments and clinical equipment that requires reprocessing (disinfection / sterilization) in quality and timely manner. Contaminated instruments required to be contained during transport from the point of use to the decontamination.
- Identify and use appropriate methods and solutions to receive, sort, disassemble, decontaminate, rinse and disinfect Instruments and clinical equipment, operates and troubleshoots cleaning equipment (washer disinfectors, ultrasonic washers, cart washers, endoscopy reprocessing machines) and handle biohazard materials, maintaining safety standards.
- Carry out daily routine cleaning of decontamination / washroom.
- Cleaning & disinfection of the working surface in packaging area.
- Troubleshoot cleaning equipment such as washer disinfectors, ultrasonic washers, cart washers and endoscopy reprocessing machines.
- Decontamination area of reception, segregation and loading the soiled instruments in the trays.
- Inspect for the cleanliness and functionality using appropriate tools.
- Assemble, protect, label, package using approved sterile barrier system SBS and requisitions for equipment maintenance (repair or replacement) and removes defective instruments and equipment.
- Repossess of instrument and clinical equipment in CSSD following manufacturers recommendations/IFU and established procedure.
- Sort mismatched sets of instruments, trays, and medical equipment.
- Assembly & packing of the instruments.
- Packaging of single use packages.
- Sterilization and packaging of all single use devices (Example - implants)
- Ensure traceability of reusable medical devices in accordance with the requirements.
- Ensures cleanliness of all the instrument and equipment related to the conduct of surgery and proper upkeep of all equipment.
- Perform daily/weekly cleaning and daily validations of sterilizer.
- Operating all the equipments & devices in CSSD.
- Packaging in the sterile store according to the expiry date and preparing the orders as per requirement.
- Retrieve, distribute, and track medical and surgical supplies and equipment.
- Quality assurance & maintenance of records.
- Using the electrical cutter to cut sterilization papers and gauze.
- Manage hazardous waste and follow biomedical waste disposal protocols.
- Co-ordinate with biomedical department, maintenance department for maintenance of instruments.
- Maintenance of all indicators (chemical/biological).
Required Candidate Profile:
- Diploma / Certificate Course in CSSD.
- 1+ years of relevant experience in CSSD.
- strong practical and organizational skills with the ability to work autonomously.
- strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate with internal & external customers.
