We're hiring a Month-End Accounting Clerk to help with closing the books and keeping our financial records accurate. The right person should understand basic accounting rules (GAAP), know how to handle journal entries and account reconciliations, and be comfortable using MS Excel and QuickBooks. This role is important for making sure our financial reports are correct and completed on time.
Role & responsibilities:
- Handle monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing tasks following company rules and GAAP standards.
- Create and post journal entries for items like accruals, prepayments, and reclassifications.
- Review and match general ledger accounts and bank statements to keep records accurate.
- Keep updated records, spreadsheets, and perform other routine accounting tasks.
- Analyze differences in profit & loss and balance sheet accounts.
- Help make sure financial reports are completed correctly and on time.
- Keep clear records of accounting processes and internal controls.
- Work closely with teams like Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, FP&A, and other departments.
Preferred candidate profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2-5 years of hands-on accounting experience.
- Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas, etc.).
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
- Good understanding of GAAP and standard accounting practices.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
