Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby code using the Rails framework.
Develop backend components, connect applications with other (often third-party) web services, and support the frontend developers by integrating their work with the application.
Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems.
Maintain code quality, organization, and automatization.
Work closely with product managers, designers, and other developers to deliver high-quality features.
Write and maintain technical documentation.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Ruby on Rails developer (minimum [X] years).
Strong understanding of the syntax of Ruby and its nuances.
Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and software design patterns.
Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, React or Vue.js is a plus).
Experience with Git and version control workflows.
Ability to write clean, readable, and maintainable code.
Familiarity with testing frameworks (e.g., RSpec, Minitest).
Good understanding of RESTful APIs and microservice architecture.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Nice to Have:

Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Heroku, or GCP.
DevOps experience or understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Agile/Scrum development experience.
