Job Description
A Java Backend Developer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the server-side logic and infrastructure of applications, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and efficient. This involves working with databases, APIs, and other web services to power the user-facing elements of a website or application. They also collaborate with front-end developers to integrate front-end and back-end components. Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining server-side logic:This includes writing clean, efficient, and scalable code using Java and related frameworks like Spring Boot.
- Designing and implementing APIs:Creating RESTful APIs to enable communication between the front-end and back-end.
- Integrating with databases:Working with relational databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL, and potentially NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
- Ensuring performance and scalability:Optimizing application performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing solutions to ensure the application can handle a large number of users.
- Writing well-designed, testable code:Following best practices for software development, including unit testing and code reviews, to maintain code quality.
- Collaborating with other teams:Working with front-end developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality applications.
- Troubleshooting and debugging:Identifying and resolving issues in the application's back-end functionality.
Skills and Technologies:
- Java and Java EE: Strong proficiency in Java programming language and related frameworks like Spring Boot.
- API development: Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
- Database management: Experience with relational databases (SQL) and potentially NoSQL databases.
- Cloud technologies: Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Microservices: Understanding and experience with microservices architectures.
- Version control: Proficiency with Git.
- Testing and debugging: Experience with unit testing and other testing methodologies.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills: Ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
