Job Description
Role & responsibilities
- Lead Capex procurement activities including sourcing, evaluation, and negotiation for equipment, machinery, HVAC systems, utilities, cleanroom infrastructure, and lab instruments.
- Drive procurement of project materials for new facility development, plant expansion, and maintenance.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Projects, Validation, and Quality teams to define technical specifications and procurement plans.
- Identify and qualify reliable vendors, both domestic and international, ensuring compliance with pharmaceutical standards (cGMP, USFDA, EU-GMP).
- Manage RFQ/RFP processes, commercial negotiations, cost analysis, and finalize contracts or purchase orders.
- Monitor project timelines to ensure timely delivery and commissioning of procured items.
- Maintain and optimize procurement processes using SAP MM module, including PR/PO cycle, GRN, invoice processing, vendor master management, and reporting.
- Develop long-term strategic sourcing strategies aligned with company Capex plans and cost-saving initiatives.
- Ensure procurement compliance with audit, regulatory, and internal control requirements.
- Coordinate with Finance and Project teams for budget tracking and cost control.
- Track market trends, price fluctuations, and risks in Capex sourcing.
Preferred candidate profile
- Deep knowledge of Capex procurement lifecycle
- Familiarity with pharma facility setup, HVAC, utility systems, lab equipment
- Understanding of pharma regulatory environments (USFDA, WHO, EUGMP)
- Strong hands-on experience in SAP MM (Material Management) module including PR/PO processing, vendor evaluation, inventory linkage, and analytics.
- Strong negotiation, vendor management, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
