Skill Security Testing
Key Skills & Knowledge required in Security Testing
Conducting comprehensive security testing, including vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security code reviews, to identify and mitigate security risks in applications, systems, and networks.
Developing detailed test plans, test cases, and test scenarios for security testing activities and executing them according to established procedures and timelines.
Demonstrating proficiency in using security testing tools and technologies such as vulnerability scanners, penetration testing frameworks, code analysis tools, and network security monitoring solutions.
Security Standards and Compliance: Ensuring adherence to security standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS, HIPAA) by evaluating systems against established security benchmarks and guidelines.
Conducting risk assessments to identify, prioritize, and communicate security risks to stakeholders and recommending appropriate risk mitigation strategies and controls.
Participating in security incident response activities, including investigating security incidents, analyzing root causes, and recommending corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Documenting security testing activities, findings, and recommendations in detailed reports and communicating them effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including management and clients
