Cloud Migration Engineer- Level 2 - Navi @ Orange Business

Job Description

1. Virtual Machine Migration: Execute the migration of virtual machines between private and hybrid cloud environments, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and adhering to predefined schedules.
2. Planning and Analysis: Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to assess migration requirements, analyze existing infrastructure, and develop migration plans that align with business objectives.
3. Platform Compatibility: Evaluate compatibility of virtual machines with target platforms, addressing any compatibility issues, and ensuring seamless integration post-migration.
4. Blade and Rack Server Management: Configure, deploy, and maintain blade and rack servers to support virtualization infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
5. Hardware Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware issues related to blade and rack servers, including CPU, memory, storage, and networking components, to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
6. Performance Optimization: Identify opportunities for performance optimization during the migration process, including resource allocation, network configuration, and storage optimization.
7. Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with virtual machine migration, develop mitigation strategies, and implement contingency plans to minimize impact on operations.
8. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of migration processes, including configuration details, troubleshooting procedures, and post-migration validation tests.
9. Collaboration: Work closely with Level 1 support teams to provide guidance and assistance during migration activities, ensuring effective communication and knowledge transfer.
10. Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in virtualization and cloud computing, and actively contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Preferred candidate profile:

1. Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
2. Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or OpenStack, with hands-on experience in virtual machine migration and management.
3. Blade and Rack Server Hardware Skills: Experience in configuring, deploying, and maintaining blade and rack server hardware, including server chassis, blades, power supplies, and networking modules.
4. Networking Skills: Knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, and firewall configuration, to ensure seamless connectivity between blade and rack servers and virtualized environments.
5. Scripting and Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash, and experience automating repetitive tasks to streamline server provisioning and maintenance processes.
6. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions under tight deadlines.
7. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
8. Certifications: Preferred certifications include VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or equivalent certifications in virtualization and server hardware management.
