Job Description
Role & responsibilities
Technical Automation Architect
- Design and implement scalable and reusable automation frameworks across various platforms, including Web, API, Mobile, and Desktop applications, utilizing tools such as TOSCA, Robot Framework, Selenium, Playwright, Appium, Postman, and SoapUI.
- Provide in-depth expertise in Tricentis TOSCA, utilizing advanced features such as TDS (Test Data Service), TCD (Test Case Design), DEX (Distributed Execution), TC-Shell for command-line automation, and TOSCA REST API.
- Develop and execute automated API tests using Postman, SoapUI, TOSCA REST API, and custom scripts for RESTful and SOAP-based web services, ensuring comprehensive integration, regression, and functional testing.
- Set and enforce automation best practices, coding standards, and governance guidelines to ensure reusable, scalable, and maintainable test scripts.
- Implement keyword-driven, data-driven, and behavior-driven testing methodologies to improve test coverage, efficiency, and maintainability.
- Integrate automation solutions into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket, and other industry-standard tools to ensure seamless continuous integration and delivery.
- Advocate for shift-left testing by incorporating automation early in the software development lifecycle to ensure early defect detection.
- Design and develop robust error handling, logging, and reporting mechanisms to ensure reliable and traceable automated tests.
- Optimize test execution speed and scalability through parallel and distributed testing approaches using Selenium Grid and cloud-based platforms.
- Create and maintain detailed test execution dashboards and performance reports using visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Grafana, etc.), providing actionable insights and data to stakeholders.
- Continuously evaluate emerging automation tools and technologies. Conduct Proof of Concepts (POCs) and recommend tools that align with technical requirements, scalability, and integration needs.
- Lead and mentor a team of automation engineers, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and adherence to best practices.
- Stay current with the latest trends and advancements in automation and test technologies, driving continuous improvement in test strategies and frameworks.
- TOSCA Architect Certification. Deep proficiency in TOSCA, including TDS, TCD, DEX, TC-Shell, and TOSCA REST API.
- Expertise in Robot Framework, Selenium, Playwright, Appium, Postman, and SoapUI.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, Shell, PowerShell, and VBScript.
- Proven experience integrating automation solutions with CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Bitbucket.
- Knowledge of performance testing tools like Apache JMeter and experience with database testing (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL).
- Strong leadership, communication, and mentorship skills with a history of developing high-performing automation teams.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud-based automation execution platforms.
- Exposure to AI/ML tools for test optimization and intelligent test case generation.
- Additional certifications in other related automation tools.
