Job Description
BDD Automation Framework Development:
- Design and maintain comprehensive BDD automation frameworks using Java, Selenium, and Cucumber.
- Implement and enforce BDD best practices, ensuring clear and maintainable test scenarios.
- Develop reusable test components and libraries to improve efficiency and scalability.
Test Script Development and Execution:
- Write and execute automated test scripts based on manual test cases/user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Perform thorough regression testing to identify and resolve defects.
- Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline for continuous testing using Jenkins.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate closely with developers, SMEs, scrum masters and QA engineers to define test strategies and requirements.
- Participate in sprint planning, sprint review, sprint retrospectives, and daily stand-up meetings.
- Communicate test results and identify areas for improvement.
- Work with Business Analysts, QA Leads and engineers to refine Gherkin Scenarios.
Troubleshooting and Debugging:
- Analyse test failures and identify root causes.
- Debug and resolve complex automation issues.
- Provide detailed reports on test results and defect tracking.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest automation tools and technologies.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance test efficiency and effectiveness.
- Mentor junior automation engineers, manual QA engineers and share best practices.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 to 5 years of experience in BDD automation using Java, Selenium, and Cucumber.
- Strong programming skills in Java.
- Proficiency in developing and maintaining Selenium WebDriver automation frameworks.
- Experience with Cucumber for BDD test automation.
- Solid understanding of software testing principles and methodologies.
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience or Knowledge with API testing.
- Experience with database testing.
- Experience with performance testing tools.
- Experience with mobile automation testing.
- Experience with cloud-based testing platforms.
- Playwright Hands-on experience in automating end-to-end testing for web applications using Playwright framework
