Job Description The candidate is responsible for designing and implementing control systems on physical systems. The typical sub-systems of interest include a collaborative serial robot, a force-torque sensor, and a vision sensor. The scope of problems includes the following aspects: 1. Control Design: Force and position control Impedance and admittance control Adaptive, robust, and stochastic control techniques 2. Modelling Statics and dynamics of serial robots Mechanics of flexible bodies 3. Sensors a. Calibration of force/torque sensors b. Integration of sensor feedback in the control design Moreover, being acquainted with the fundamentals of control theory is compulsory. The individual will be part of the robotics division at the research and development unit of the Healthcare Technology Innovation Center (Robotics | HTIC IITMadras). Post Level Junior level Designation for the position Robotics Control Engineer Experience 2-3 years experience Desired. Skills 1. Thorough knowledge of the following fundamental concepts: Linear algebra Differential and integral calculus Linear systems control 2. Good command of the following theoretical concepts: Digital signal processing - filter design Kinematics of serial robots 3. Hands-on experience with the following platforms: An open-source physics engine Python, MATLAB, and C++ (recommended) 4. Additional recommendations: Dynamics of multi-body systems Non-linear systems control, System identification Machine learning Qualification B.E. or B.Tech. (Instrumentation and Control, Robotics and Automation, Mechatronics Engineering) (or) Previous experience in control of robotic manipulators.
