MSSQL DBA & AWS RDS Database Requirement-

Certifications & Skills:

ITIL Certified

SQL Server Database Administration (Versions 2012, 2014, 2016, 2019)

Hands-on experience with Azure Foundational Services, Data Management Services (Optional), and Cloud Awareness

PowerShell, Shell Scripting, Python (Optional)

Responsibilities:

MSSQL DBA (L2 Level):

End-to-end Physical Database Administration duties

Backup & Restore Management

Database Lifecycle Management (SQL Server Build, Version Upgrades, Patch Management, Decommissioning Activities)

Experience in writing T-SQL (Stored Procedures, Views, Tables, Triggers, User-Defined Functions)

Hands-on experience with business continuity solutions such as Log Shipping, Database Mirroring, and SQL Always-On

Support Disaster Recovery (DR) Drills

Database Migrations (On-Premise, Azure Cloud)

Database Maintenance (Index Management, Statistics Management, Database Refresh, Cloning)

SQL Server Agent Management

Experience in handling performance issues related to capacity management, performance tuning (Locking, Blocking, Deadlocks)

Trend Analysis, Reporting & Auditing

Security Implementation: Database Encryption (TDE / Always-Encrypted), Role-Based Access Control, Linked Servers

AWS RDS (L1 Level):

Basic administration of AWS RDS instances (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL)

Monitoring and handling basic performance issues

Assisting in backups and snapshot management

Managing parameter groups and security groups

Assisting with failover testing and minor troubleshooting

Basic user and role management in RDS

Understanding of RDS maintenance tasks, including minor version upgrades and patches

Coordinating with senior team members for major RDS-related issues
