Job Description

As a Fire Alarm Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of buildings by designing, installing, and maintaining effective fire alarm systems. Your responsibilities will include designing systems in compliance with local fire codes and regulations, collaborating with stakeholders to meet project requirements, and providing ongoing support to ensure system functionality. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and effective communication skills to deliver high-quality solutions that prioritize safety and compliance. Key Responsibilities: Design fire alarm systems adhering to local fire codes, NFPA standards, and relevant regulations. Collaborate with architects, building owners, and stakeholders to develop comprehensive fire alarm system designs meeting project requirements. Install, test, and commission fire alarm systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and industry standards. Conduct. routine inspections and maintenance of fire alarm systems to ensure proper functionality and regulatory compliance. Provide training to building occupants and maintenance staff on the operation and upkeep of fire alarm systems. Stay updated on advancements in fire alarm technology, codes, and standards. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to fire alarm systems, including false alarms and malfunctions. Prepare and Maintain accurate documentation of system design, installation, testing, maintenance, and any modifications or upgrades. Collaborate with local authorities to secure permits and approvals for fire alarm system installations. Requirements Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, fire protection engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 4 years of experience in designing, installing, testing, and maintaining fire alarm systems. Proficiency in fire alarm system design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and familiarity with fire alarm system components and manufacturers. Strong knowledge of fire codes, NFPA standards, and other applicable regulations. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal teams, clients, and regulatory authorities. Relevant certifications such as NICET or CFPS are advantageous. Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to job sites as required
