JOB DESCRIPTION

Expected Qualities of the role-holder:

The ideal candidate should possess 7-10 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, focusing on grant making and management. They should exhibit a robust process orientation and adeptness in cultivating relationships with diverse stakeholders. Essential is a deep understanding of India's nonprofit landscape, particularly grassroots women's movements and feminist principles. Strong communication, collaboration, empathy, attention to detail, and conflict resolution skills are imperative.

Job Purpose

Women Empowerment Lead

The Senior Portfolio Manager is responsible for scoping grassroots organisations in the women empowerment sector, budgeting and forecasting disbursements, grant assessment, delivering impactful grants, and monitoring and evaluating existing NGO partners. The role may also include working on projects related to women empowerment and philanthropic eco system building.

Managerial Responsibilities


  • Ensure deliverables meet expectations within defined timelines.
  • Devise strategies for co-working with the grants team.
  • Manage inter and intra-team communications and collaborations.

Functional Responsibilities


Core Responsibilities

Investment Strategy

- Develop and align portfolio strategy with EdelGive's overall investment strategy.

- Balance quality and quantity of fund allocations.

- Guide formulation of investment strategy and ensure alignment with organisational goals.

- Stay updated on global research and trends to inform strategy.

- Propose process improvement initiatives for enhanced efficiency.

Grant Making and Management:

- Optimize impact from EdelGive's investments.

- Manage grants for existing NGO partners.

- Scope grassroots organisations in women empowerment.

- Coordinate review processes with NGOs.

- Finalize grant applications and prepare investment notes.

- Coordinate with NGO partners for agreement finalisation and timely disbursements.

- Utilise various technological applications throughout the process.

Monitoring

- Define monitoring parameters and frameworks.

- Review progress reports and utilisation of grants.

- Maintain regular updates on grant progress.

- Plan and execute grant evaluations.

- Support donor servicing planning, tracking, and reporting.

- Coordinate with NGOs for reports and field visits.

Managing Collaboratives

- Conceptualize and manage collaboratives.

- Coordinate with multiple stakeholders for effective execution.

- Ensure optimal impact from collaboratives.

Capacity building

- Support capacity building efforts for optimized impact.

- Identify intervention areas and observe results.

- Motivate and guide organisations in capacity building programs.

Other projects and Learnings

- Actively contribute in EdelGive s collaborative projects geared towards enhancing philanthropic eco system building initiatives.

- Facilitate the sharing and documentation of learnings from partner organisations and enable their dissemination within the organisation and to external stakeholders.

- Anchor research and portfolio evaluation initiatives for women empowerment portfolio.

Other Responsibilities

- Support in risk identification and mitigation.

- Assist in preparing internal and external briefs.

- Vendor management, RFP drafting and agreement execution.

Job Requirements

Qualifications


Masters in social work /Sociology/ Development Studies/Anthropology/ Rural Management or similar areas of academics

Experience


At least 7-10 years of experience of working in social development sector
