Job description

 

The Process Engineer will work on the detailed design engineering, prioritize and organize own work to meet deadlines, focus on completing work within budgets, and clearly communicate and explain information in straightforward engineering activities.

 

The Process Engineer will report to Lead Engineer, Supervisor Department Manager, and liaise with all design disciplines, all Engineering disciplines, shall be capable to draft P&IDs in AutoCAD or similar, archiving and releasing the documents.

 

Essential Qualifications and Education:

 

• Bachelor Degree in Chemical / Power Engineering
• 3-5 yrs in Oil and Gas or Engineering Consultant predominantly performing detail design. People working on non-Oil and Gas industries also could be considered, if they have a strong Process Design background.
• Familiar with the content and application of standards, codes and guidelines as applicable.

 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

 

• Should be able to understand the project scope of work, specifications
• Recognize changes to scope and notify the discipline Lead Engineer
• Interface with other departments to obtain input for Discipline designs and drawings
• Interact with suppliers, other discipline Engineers (Control & Instrumentation, Piping, Mechanical)
• Document substantive communications (communications that result in significant decisions or assignment of actions) and forward copies to Discipline Lead Engineer and Discipline Manager
• Review vendor and subcontractor submittals, checking for compliance with project specifications and providing comments as necessary
• Check engineering performed by others within Discipline
• Quick Learner of BH Processes and Applications related to the documentation

 

Responsible for preparing / checking the following key deliverables, applicable as per the Project scope:

 

• Process simulations (Hysys or similar) / Heat and material balances
• Process flow diagrams (PFD)
• Piping and instrument diagrams (P&ID) drafting (AutoCAD) & preparation
• Equipment and instrument process datasheets
• Process specifications
• Equipment list (process data)
• Line list (process data)
• Equipment and line sizing calculations
• PSV sizing calculations

• Experience in Heat Recovery Systems (WHRUs, HRSG, CCPP) or Power Industry would be an added advantage.
• Operating philosophy and startup and operating manuals
