Boeing India Engineering is currently looking Lead Structures Design Engineer to join their team in Bangalore, Karnataka. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) and Boeing Global Services (BGS) business organizations. A successful candidate will understand the importance of collaboration and shall work with the Engineering Manager, Project lead & Aerospace Mechanical Design and Systems expert to develop or optimize the designs, engineering process, analyze the supplier quality issues, support the development of cutting-edge technologies and digital initiatives. Position Responsibilities: Leads Structures Engineering Design and Analysis Solutions function and develops Knowledge Based Integrated Tools to accelerate Enterprise to 2nd Century The selected candidate is required to have relevant work experience in Structures Engineering Design and Analysis and full stack software development to continuously improve and optimize solutions for complex engineering and manufacturing processes to throughout the value stream. Facilitates development of system integration strategies and architectures that promote use of common tools and processes. Leads and coordinates integration of new technologies and the transition from legacy systems to support business requirements. Leads and directs the implementation of program transition plans to improve existing processes and optimize the effective application of new tool technology. Defines and validates complex requirements for new and revised hardware and software systems. Leads the design, development and test of applications and systems. Guides and coordinates development and deployment of new or revised processes in support of new computing systems, including documentation and training. Develops, documents and implements plans and processes to ensure products meet technical, data, regulatory and company requirements and to maintain configuration control. Utilizes extensive knowledge of product design and build processes and applies principles of Lean Product Development, Theory of Constraints and Critical Chain Project Management to construct program planning models simulating the multi-functional dependencies of the product development lifecycle. Leads the development plans, schedules and resource commitments to develop, test and deploy process improvements and changes. Leads development of trade studies and other forms of analysis to formulate optimum solutions for users. Prior experience in Design and Development of Mechanical and Structural components, & System perform, requirement validation, verification, Development assurance, create qualification test planning & reporting and support initiatives of Boeing India organization related to engineering excellence, employee development, customer engagement etc. Prior experience in technical quality review of the development and documentation of Mechanical, Structural & fluid systems and thermal environment to establish the system design. Prior experience in components" designs/proposals to provide installation and detail documentation. Prior Experience in analyses of mechanisms/landing gear/ordnance components and systems selecting appropriate methods to validate or assess the design. Prioritizes, delegates and tracks performance and documentation Supports proposal preparation and new business development efforts. Works under minimal direction. Responsibility includes creation of planning, scheduling, peer reviewing and lead meet the on-time delivery and first-time quality. This position will be responsible for coordinating and communicating regularly with team members in Boeing organizations and shall provide periodic update on project progress, quality metrics, project summaries, and other related documents. This position will be located in Boeing India Engineering and Technology Center, Bangalore, India. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical or equivalent disciplines. 15 to 20 Years of relevant Work experience (for masters please refer next section). 5 to 10 years relevant experience in array of software skills including Python, Visual Basic plus, Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs), HTML, C++ or similar and Databases. Expert level competency of design of Aircraft structures, Mechanical or Hydraulic components. Experience of Spares engineering investigation and in-service issues. Working knowledge of System Safety Analysis, assessment etc., Experience of performing Requirement Decomposition, Creating Test plan & procedures and participation in Certification process. Experience in Performing requirement validation, traceability analysis Experience in Mechanical System Design & Analysis, structural design, DFX (X- Manufacturing, Assembly, Optimization etc.)Tier 1, 2 and 3 requirements, Certification process, Development and Verification of Aircraft systems towards certifications etc. Perform with positive attitude and highest ethics. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Experience in aerospace material selection, drawing (Drawing based or MBD creation), processes (finishing and heat treatment) specifications, perform analyses like tolerance stack up, FRACAS, Engineering or product quality investigation analyses. Experience in aircraft systems (Mechanical, Structural, flight controls, Actuation etc.,). Experience of independently developing designs using CAD Tools (CATIA, CREO Unigraphics /NX, CATIAV5,3DExperience(3DX)) for Modeling, Drafting & Model Based Definition is essential. Work experience with C/C++, Python, PERL, VB, Java/J2EE, VC++, MFC, COM, UML, SysML Rational Rose, Tcl/Tk, Geometric Kernels CAA, ACIS, PARASOLID, MBSE/CAMEO, VSS, SOS, Perforce-4, Clear case, Insure++, Glow Code, Rational purifier and VSS, SOS, Perforce-4, Clear case Experience of design and development as part of New Product development process, redesigns and Inservice design investigations. Knowledge of stress analysis and Aerospace requirements at system and LRU level. Thorough understanding of aircraft certification processes and lifecycle. Experience in assigning GD&T and ability to understand the develop rationale for supplier designs and change proposals. Able to generate cost-out ideas, value engineering proposals. Experience in Model Based Engineering using tools like 3DX etc., Experience on use of PDM/PLM tools such as ENOVIA or Team Center. Knowledge of Data analytics and awareness of programming languages like Python etc., Able to verify accuracy of technical and non-technical data. Gathers relevant data for root cause analysis and produces changes to resolve the discrepancies in design packages. Must be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional team. Must be willing to work flexible hours (early or late as needed) to interface with Boeing personnel around the world.
