Job Description
Key Skills / Technology & Process Knowledge:-
- Level 2 Server Administrator is responsible for providing basic server support and monitoring across a variety of server environments, including Windows and Linux. Routine server maintenance, handling service requests, monitoring server health, and escalating issues to senior administrators when required.
- Ensures smooth operations and uptime for the server infrastructure while adhering to defined service levels.
- Basic understanding of server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).
- Familiarity with server hardware, virtualization (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), and basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Ability to troubleshoot common server issues and resolve basic incidents.
- Ability to use Backup & Restoration tools
- Analytical mindset for identifying performance bottlenecks and potential issues.
- Good verbal and written communication for documenting incidents and communicating with internal teams.
- Ability to follow instructions and collaborate with senior administrators.
- Willingness to work in rotating shifts (24x7 support) if required.
- Experience in handling corporate customers
- ITIL Based service delivery experience
- Certifications preferred - MCSE / MCSA / Azure Fundamentals or equivalent.
Experience:-
- 5+ years of experience in server administration, providing basic support for Windows and Linux environments.
- Experience in routine server maintenance, monitoring server health, and handling service requests.
- Hands-on experience with server hardware, virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), and basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Proven ability to troubleshoot common server issues and manage backup and restoration tasks.
- Experience in handling corporate customers and working within an ITIL-based service delivery framework.
- Experience working in rotating shifts (24x7 support) when required.
