About The Role
Are you passionate about simplifying complex technical concepts through clear, engaging content? At HackerRank, we are looking for a Technical Writer Intern who can help us craft high-quality documentation and resources that empower developers and our customers alike
In this role, youll work closely with product managers, engineers, and the customer success team to create meaningful content that supports our platform and drives user success

What Youll Do
Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation such as user guides, how-to guides, integration guides, FAQs, and release notes for developer and customer audiences
Work closely with product managers, engineers, and customer success teams to gather information and document new features and updates

Continuously review, update, and improve existing documentation to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency

Use visualssuch as screenshots and short GIFsto enhance the clarity and engagement of technical content
Ensure documentation aligns with the HackerRank Documentation Style Guide, including voice, tone, formatting, and terminology

Youll Thrive In This Role If You
Have a passion for technical writing and creating developer-centric content

Are curious, detail-oriented, and enjoy explaining how things work

Excel at breaking down technical topics into simple, digestible content

Enjoy working collaboratively with product managers, engineers, and customer success teams

Are a collaborative team player who welcomes feedback

Have a basic understanding of the Document Development Life Cycle (DDLC)

What You Bring
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelors degree in Engineering, or a Masters degree in English, Journalism, or a related field

[Bonus] Previous experience with blog writing, documentation, or open-source contributions

[Bonus] Familiarity with documentation tools, project management platforms (e.g., Jira, Linear), and visual content tools (e.g., Camtasia, ScreenStudio)
