Job Title: Country Coordinator - Aster Volunteers Mobile & Community Medical Services (AVMMS & AVCMS)

Location: India (National Role, Frequent Travel Required)

Experience Required: 10-15 years in public health, healthcare program management, or community medical services

Educational Qualification: BSc/MSc in Nursing (Preferred), MPH or equivalent healthcare/public health qualifications will be an added advantage

Reports To: Head - Aster Volunteers India

Job Summary:

The Country Coordinator will be responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the AVMMS and AVCMS initiatives across India. This role will oversee the operational efficiency of 34 Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) and Telemedicine Projects across multiple states, ensuring quality healthcare delivery, program expansion, compliance, and impact assessment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Program Coordination & Management

  • Lead the end-to-end coordination of AVMMS and AVCMS initiatives across all operational states.
  • Ensure smooth functioning and service delivery of 34 MMUs, including staffing, logistics, supply chain, and technology integration (e.g., EHRs, telemedicine platforms).
  • Coordinate telemedicine services in rural and underserved areas, working with local NGOs, Aster hospital teams, and community stakeholders.

2. Strategic Planning & Expansion

  • Develop annual and long-term strategic plans aligned with Aster DM Healthcares community outreach objectives.
  • Identify new regions and communities for service expansion and build partnerships with local health departments and NGOs.
  • Support proposal writing and program design for new projects under CSR or government collaborations.

3. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

  • Establish and implement monitoring and evaluation systems to assess service quality, coverage, and impact.
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on program performance, patient data, outcomes, and operational highlights.
  • Use data-driven insights to drive program improvements and stakeholder engagement.

4. Team Leadership & Training

  • Supervise and support regional coordinators, MMU teams (doctors, nurses, pharmacists, drivers), and telemedicine staff.
  • Organize regular training sessions and workshops for capacity building and skills development, especially focused on community-based nursing care and digital health solutions.

5. Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, state health departments, and donor agencies.
  • Represent AVMMS/AVCMS at national and regional health forums, conferences, and CSR events.
  • Ensure compliance with local/state regulations and healthcare standards.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • AHA Certified BLS Training Skills
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with experience managing multilocation healthcare programs.
  • Excellent knowledge of primary healthcare systems, mobile medical operations, and public health in India.
  • Familiarity with telemedicine platforms and digital health tools.
  • Effective communicator in English and at least one regional language (Hindi/South Indian language preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, healthcare MIS, and reporting tools.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working in large-scale mobile health units, community outreach programs, or public-private partnerships.
  • Prior exposure to CSR-funded or NGO-led healthcare initiatives.
  • Experience in managing nursing teams and clinical coordination in underserved communities.

Travel Requirement:

  • Extensive travel across operational states to monitor, support, and audit field operations (approximately 40-50% of the time).
