Job Description

    Key Responsibilities: Preparation & Cooking: Assist in the preparation and cooking of Indian dishes as per the restaurants menu and standards. Support the Chef de Partie in ensuring the correct use of spices, ingredients, and cooking techniques typical of Indian cuisine. Learn and familiarize yourself with various methods of cooking, such as tandoori, curry-making, slow-cooking, and use of specific Indian spices. Section Support: Work in different sections of the kitchen as assigned, such as starters, mains, or tandoor, assisting in the day-to-day operations of each area. Help in the mise en place (preparation of ingredients) to ensure smooth service during peak hours. Assist in plating and garnishing dishes to ensure they meet presentation standards. Hygiene & Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized workspace throughout your shift, ensuring adherence to hygiene and safety standards. Clean kitchen equipment and utensils as needed and help with general kitchen cleanliness tasks. Assist with the proper storage of ingredients to ensure freshness and safety. Learning & Development: Actively seek guidance from senior chefs, including the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef, to learn about the nuances of Indian cuisine. Develop your understanding of spice blends, flavor profiles, and cooking techniques specific to Indian food. Keep up-to-date with new cooking methods, trends in Indian cuisine, and restaurant-specific standards. Inventory Support: Assist with inventory checks and the stock rotation of ingredients, ensuring proper storage and minimizing waste. Help maintain kitchen stock levels by assisting with ingredient deliveries and managing ingredient usage. Teamwork & Communication: Work effectively as part of a team, maintaining clear communication with colleagues and senior kitchen staff. Be open to receiving feedback and instructions, and use it to improve your culinary skills. Support other kitchen staff as needed during busy service periods. Customer Satisfaction: Contribute to ensuring that each dish served is of high quality, flavorful, and presented in line with the restaurants standards. Assist in responding to customer feedback by maintaining a professional and efficient approach.
