Job Title: Production Engineer - Light Gauge Steel/Cold Formed Steel
Location: Pune
Job Summary
The LGS Production Engineer is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the production process of Light Gauge Steel (LGS) sections to ensure high-quality output, efficiency, and safety. The role involves managing the roll-forming equipment, troubleshooting production issues, coordinating with design and quality teams, and ensuring timely delivery of products.
Key Responsibilities
Production Management:
Plan, schedule, and supervise LGS production activities to meet project deadlines.
Monitor production efficiency, output quality, and machine performance.
Ensure raw material availability and proper usage during production.
Equipment Handling:
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot roll-forming machines and related equipment.
Collaborate with maintenance teams for preventive and corrective maintenance.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure that products meet the required specifications and standards.
Identify and resolve quality issues during production processes.
Work closely with the quality control team to implement quality improvements.
Process Optimization:
Analyze production data to identify areas for efficiency improvement.
Suggest and implement process improvements to minimize waste and reduce costs.
Team Coordination:
Train and guide production staff on equipment handling and safety procedures.
Coordinate with design, logistics, and procurement teams for smooth operations.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
2-5 years of experience in LGS or roll-forming production processes.
Proficiency in using roll-forming equipment and CAD software.
Strong understanding of steel grades, properties, and fabrication techniques.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Good communication and leadership abilities.
Knowledge of ISO standards and other relevant quality frameworks is a plus.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Production output vs. target.
Machine downtime and utilization rates.
Quality rejection rate.
Cost efficiency and material usage.
Adherence to safety and compliance standards.
Work Location - Pune, Wagholi.
