Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Site Surveyor to join our team. As the site surveyor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of our construction projects by conducting precise land and building surveys. You will utilize advanced surveying technology to collect data essential for planning, design, and successful execution of construction projects, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain project integrity and compliance.
- Perform comprehensive field surveys including topographical, boundary, as-built, and construction surveys using advanced equipment such as total stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, digital levels, and laser scanners
- Interpret and apply architectural and engineering drawings to accurately transfer designs to physical reference points on construction sites (setting out)
- Collect, analyze, and document precise measurements of land features, elevations, and existing structures
- Verify site boundaries and property lines to ensure legal compliance and prevent encroachment issues
- Monitor construction progress and document any deviations from approved plans
- Prepare detailed survey reports, maps, and technical documentation with recommendations for project teams
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and contractors to resolve discrepancies and provide surveying solutions
- Implement and enforce proper safety protocols during all surveying operations
- Conduct quality control checks to validate survey data accuracy and reliability
- Maintain and calibrate surveying equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Utilize specialized surveying software to process field data and create deliverables
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field
- Professional surveying license or certification preferred
- 5+ years of experience in construction surveying or a related field
- Proficiency with modern surveying equipment and software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, or similar)
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Physical ability to work in various outdoor environments and weather conditions
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical information clearly
Skills & Competencies
- Expert knowledge of surveying principles, practices, and techniques
- Strong understanding of construction processes and building methodologies
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications
- Experience with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) applications
