Job Summary:
- Job Title: QA/Test Engineer (Manual + Automation)
- Location: Bhopal / Pune (Currently remote)
- Work Hours: 11:00 AM IST 8:00 PM IST
- Experience: 4+ years in relevant field
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Manual Automation Quality Analyst to join our dynamic QA team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and executing manual and automated tests to ensure the quality and functionality of our software applications. The role requires a thorough understanding of QA processes, excellent problem-solving abilities, and strong technical skills.
1. Test Planning and Design
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to understand functional and non-functional requirements.
- Design, develop, and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for both manual and automated testing.
2. Manual Testing
- Execute manual test cases for new features, enhancements, and bug fixes.
- Log, track, and manage defects using bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla).
- Perform regression testing to verify the stability of existing features after changes.
3. Automation Testing
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using tools like Selenium, QTP, JUnit, TestNG, or equivalent.
- Optimize and refactor automated test suites to improve efficiency and test coverage.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for seamless test execution.
4. Quality Assurance
- Enforce QA processes and ensure adherence to best practices for software quality.
- Participate in code and design reviews to provide early feedback on potential quality issues.
- Conduct performance and load testing to assess system behavior under various conditions.
5. Reporting and Documentation
- Generate comprehensive test reports detailing test execution, defect metrics, and overall quality status.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of test cases, QA processes, and automation frameworks.
6. Collaboration and Communication
- Partner with cross-functional teams to diagnose, debug, and resolve complex issues.
- Communicate test progress, risks, and issues clearly to relevant stakeholders.
- Mentor and support junior QA engineers, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications in QA or software testing are a plus.
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with a strong focus on both manual and automated testing.
- Proven experience in developing and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
- Proficiency in manual testing techniques and methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of automated testing frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, QTP, JUnit, TestNG).
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) for test automation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to identify, document, and track software defects effectively.
- Experience with performance and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) is a plus.
- Proficiency in using bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Experience in testing cloud-based or SaaS products.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Bamboo) and integrating automated tests into build pipelines.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide junior team members.
Certifications:
- ISTQB Certification or equivalent is preferred.
