Key Account Manager India & Middle East

Location: Mumbai

Business Model Description

Founded in 2003, Travel Sentry creates, manages and improves travel security standards with

government security agencies, airlines, airport authorities and the travel goods industry. Travel

Sentry Approved locks are officially recognized and accepted by the US Department of

Homeland Security's Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and by Security and

Customs agencies in over 65 countries around the world.

The Travel Sentry proprietary lock system is licensed to over 500 companies worldwide; including

lock manufacturers, luggage brands, and distributors of travel goods. Examples are Samsonite,

Travel Sentry does not make or sell locks or luggage. Travel Sentry developed the TSA Lock

system that security authorities use to open and re-lock luggage for inspection, without damaging

the luggage and its contents.

Travel Sentry creates and manages the specification across the entire value chain of the luggage

industry; from lock manufacturers that that supply Travel Sentry Approved locks to OEM-

nominated luggage factories, to luggage brands and travel goods distributors.

The Purpose of the Position

Travel Sentry seeks to appoint a Key Account Manager for India & the Middle East to manage and

grow business focusing on luggage manufacturing and luggage plus travel accessories distribution.

The position reports directly to the General Manager & Chief Operating Officer located in Travel

Sentrys Hong Kong office.



This position has these responsibilities:

1. Expand the network of India and South Asian [Bangladesh, Sri Lanka etc] based licensed

luggage manufacturers

2. Provide on-going support to India luggage manufacturers, India & Middle East-based luggage

brands and travel goods distributors to grow their sales volume with Travel Sentry

Approved locks.

3. Provide on-going support to Travel Sentrys two licensed lock manufacturers in Nasik, India

4. Keep a keen eye on unlicensed TS products in exhibitions and stores, online or offline, and

License those new partners.

5. Monitor the market for counterfeit or infringing goods

6. Develop the market for TSID in India & the Middle East

7. After Travel Sentry passkey sets are implemented at airports in India, manage the

relationship with Airport and security authorities and provide passkey support as needed.

Specific Responsibilities:

1. Compliance and Reporting

  • Ensure all India & Middle East licensees fulfill their contractual obligations

including compliance to Travel Sentry marketing guidelines, supply of marketing

collaterals and accurate quarterly reporting.

  • Prepare reports summarizing key accounts business activities.
  • Via regular market visits, identify unlicensed partners and bring them into our

system and monitor for counterfeit or infringing goods

2. Strategic Account Management Planning

  • Implement strategic account management planning process - profiling strategic

accounts' business and sales patterns, business health, and issues requiring action

plans to resolve etc.

3. New Business Development Travel Sentry locks & TSID

  • Continually identify opportunities to expand the sales volume of Travel Sentry

licensed lock manufacturers in India & the Middle East

  • Develop the market for TSID in India & the Middle East

Requirements

  • Tertiary education from reputable university
  • Conversant in spoken & written English
  • 8 10 years experience in key account management, business development, commercial

sales, customer service or supply chain.

  • Experience working with Western companies, understand Western business cultures and

business values

  • Collaborative Team-Player, works collectively with colleagues and supervisor when making

big business decision

  • Self-managing, able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Absolute ethics and integrity
  • Knowledge using Excel Spreadsheet (Pivot Tables skills highly advantageous)
