Job Description
Position Overview:-
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable individual to join our faculty as an Associate/Assistant Professor of Pharmacy. In this role, you will contribute to the education and professional development of future pharmacists, while actively engaging in research and scholarly activities. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in pharmacy practice and possess a strong commitment to academic excellence.
Responsibilities:-
- Teaching and Curriculum Development:-
- Deliver lectures and facilitate discussions on various topics in pharmacy, such as pharmacology, pharmaceutical sciences, clinical pharmacy, and pharmacy practice.
- Develop and update course syllabi, instructional materials, and assessments to ensure alignment with program goals and objectives.
- Utilize innovative teaching methods, technology, and active learning strategies to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Provide academic advising and mentorship to students, including guidance on career paths and research opportunities.
- Research and Scholarship:-
- Conduct original research in areas related to pharmacy practice, drug development, pharmaceutical sciences, or other relevant fields.
- Publish research findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences.
- Collaborate with colleagues, industry partners, and healthcare professionals on research projects and grants.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends, advancements, and best practices in pharmacy through continuous professional development.
- Service and Leadership:-
- Participate in departmental, college, and university committees, meetings, and events.
- Contribute to the development and evaluation of the pharmacy program's curriculum, policies, and accreditation processes.
- Engage in community outreach activities, such as health fairs, educational programs, and collaborations with local healthcare organizations.
- Foster positive relationships with students, faculty, preceptors, and professionals within the pharmacy field.
Qualifications:-
- A doctoral degree (Pharm.D., Ph.D., or equivalent) in Pharmacy or a related discipline.
- Eligibility for pharmacist licensure in the relevant jurisdiction (if applicable).
- Demonstrated teaching ability, preferably with prior experience in higher education.
- Active engagement in scholarly activities, including research and publication record.
- Strong knowledge and expertise in one or more areas of pharmacy practice or pharmaceutical sciences.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching, research, and service.
Preferred Qualifications:-
- Board certification or specialization in a pharmacy practice area (e.g., ambulatory care, critical care, oncology, etc.).
- Experience in mentoring and supervising pharmacy students or residents.
- Grant writing and research funding acquisition experience.
- Experience with online or hybrid teaching modalities and learning management systems.
Note: The specific title of the position (Associate or Assistant Professor) and the rank will depend on the candidate's qualifications and previous academic experience.
