Commis 3 Job Description: An Overview
The commis 3 job role is the entry level role in a professional kitchen setting. As a commis 3, you will be expected to assist chefs in a range of food preparation skills such as cutting, cleaning, slicng, pounding, mashing, boiling, steaming, julienning, stewing, sauting, deep-frying, and baking. You will also have to learn basic plating techniques. Commis 3 jobs require great attention to detail, a knowledge of kitchen safety and hygiene, and multitasking ability.
Commis 3 Responsibilities Include:
Assisting chefs with food preparation and presentation in a professional kitchen setting.
Performing basic kitchen tasks such as chopping, cleaning, slicing, pounding, mashing, boiling, steaming, julienning, stewing, sauting, deep-frying, and baking.
Following and understanding recipe instructions.
Ensuring that all cooking equipment is in working order.
Helping with the setting up and breaking down of stations in the kitchen.
Cleaning and re-stocking the kitchen equipment in a hygienic manner.
Maintaining high standards of safety and hygiene in the Kitchen Assistant.
Communicating with the kitchen team for a smooth service.
