Job Description
Fundraising Manager
Research :
- Identify and lead research of new funding prospects - foundations, corporates & HNI, through online research and networking
- Map connections to fundraising leads
- Identify strategic non-profit events and awards to attend and network with relevant stakeholders
- Research and be abreast on Education initiatives of various Indian state Govts.
Fundraising Strategy & Implementation :
- Work closely with the Founder to develop a fundraising strategy
- Prepare and manage quarterly budgets and ensure targets are met
- Identify and pitch to prospective donors and prepare proposals
- Support due diligence and the contract signing process
- Manage the relationship-building process with each prospective funder and create a yearlong funder pipeline
- Develop events and properties that will engage with prospective funders
- Represent the organization and be a visible part of at forums and events involving stakeholders
Maintain Relationship with Funders :
- Manage internal communications about funder reporting requirements
- Prepare timely funder reports
- Maintain relationships with all funders and develop collaterals to regularly update them about work
- Work with the Volunteering team to prepare and manage employee engagement activities Donor Data Management
Ensure data is updated within organization's data management system :
- Track and record activity in a systematic manner
- Collaborate with the Retail Fundraising team to create individual fundraising initiatives and campaigns
- Monitor, evaluate and report on the effectiveness of the individual fundraising initiatives and campaigns
- Support the Data Team to develop and maintain donor relations management systems Communications
- Create communications collaterals required for fundraising including pitch decks, proposals, funder reports, and Annual reports
- Collaborate with the Communication team to widen organization visibility by strengthening our communications strategy and executing the communication plan
- Review and advise on communication materials
- Liaison with vendors for creating the above-mentioned communication materials, if required
- Collaborate with our Social Media team to create and manage our online communications media including social media, blogs, websites, and newsletters
- Manage public relations including engaging press and social media
Functional Details :
- 3+ years' work experience in Corporate Fundraising with non-profits is mandatory and should have demonstrated ability to identify, solicit and close grants from foundations and corporations
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- An aggressive self-motivator who can work independently to deliver on a set of goals.
- Should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including writing impactful grant proposals
- A strategist, who has a deep understanding of the Donor mindset - HNI, Corporate and Foundations
- A team player who is adept at people skills
- A confident person who can communicate with senior stakeholders, both internally and externally
- Should be willing to 'roll up the sleeves' beyond formal responsibilities as needed for the work
- An added plus if you have a strong network of existing nonprofit donors
