: Director - L&D
Years of Experience : 10-15 years
Location - Bangalore
Director - Learning & Development position will be part of the Corporate Functions/ Human Resources function responsible for supporting in driving the execution of the Talent and Learning initiatives.
This position is primarily responsible for providing talent and learning advisory and managing execution of learning initiatives talent management, leadership development including talent planning, succession, career management, learning and training delivery, partnering closely with HR team and Senior Leadership.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Analyzing Training Needs: You will be responsible for analysing the training needs of the organization, identifying areas where training is needed, and developing programs that align with the organization's goals.
2. Creating Training Programs: Based on the needs analysis, you will develop and implement training programs that will equip employees with the skills and knowledge required to perform their roles effectively. You will also ensure that the training programs are engaging, relevant, and effective.
3. Conducting Training: You will be responsible for conducting training programs for employees, using a variety of training methods such as classroom sessions, e-learning, on-the-job training, and workshops. You will also ensure that training is delivered within budget and on schedule.
4. Evaluating Training: You will be responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of the training programs through feedback and assessments, and making improvements where necessary. You will also track the progress of employees who have completed training programs and report the outcomes to management.
5. Managing Learning & Development Budget: You will be responsible for managing the budget allocated for learning and development activities and ensure that all training activities are within the budget.
6. Collaborating with Management: You will work closely with the senior management team to align training programs with the company's goals and objectives, and to ensure that the training programs are in line with the company's values.
7. Developing Training Materials: You will be responsible for developing training materials such as manuals, videos, e-learning modules, and job aids.
8. Leading a Team: You will lead a team of trainers and L&D professionals, ensuring that they are well-trained, motivated and supported in their roles.
9. Ensure successful learning and talent outcomes by supporting the identification and translation of the client's/business capability and skill needs into a defined learning and talent strategy with recommended solutions
10.Managing the implementation of major talent initiatives, which may include large-scale leadership development, performance management, succession planning, career development programs, employee engagement surveys and talent assessment programs
11. Effectively establish and sustain key relationships with business stakeholders
12. Maintains working knowledge of external market best practices and offers thought leadership or advisory to the business leaders internally on talent programs and initiatives
13. Provide stakeholders with relevant data and analysis to determine the effectiveness of learning and talent programs on achieving business outcomes
Experience and Key Skills:
- Masters/MBA
- Preferred experience of working with Management Consulting Companies
- Prior experience in Talent Development/Talent Management/ OD and training within a fast paced organization and matrix structure
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to adapt style and approaches to varied audiences and stakeholder groups
- Experienced in coaching employees and identifying development needs
- Demonstrable expertise in building strong relationships, collaborating across geographical boundaries, networking, negotiating and influencing skills
- Strong Microsoft excel and PowerPoint presentation skills
- Leverage knowledge of learning principles and best practices in learning needs assessments, design, development, implementations, and evaluation to advise the business on new learning programs.
- Demonstrate flexibility and agility in partnering with the business to design and develop new talent & learning programs as different teams have different needs.
- Build strategic relationships with key business stakeholders allowing you to advise on critical learning or talent needs or program design, development, and implementation.
As the Head of Learning and Development the key performance indicators (KPIs) that you could be evaluated on are:
Employee Satisfaction: The satisfaction level of employees with the training and development programs you provide can be a key performance indicator.
Employee Skill Development: The effectiveness of your training programs can be measured by evaluating the development of employees' skills and competencies over time.
Training Completion Rates: You can be evaluated based on the percentage of employees who have completed the training programs offered by your department. This can help determine the effectiveness of the training programs and identify areas that may require improvement.
Training Costs: The cost of delivering training programs can be an important KPI. You may be evaluated based on the cost-effectiveness of the programs you develop and deliver.
Return on Investment (ROI): The ROI of your training and development programs can be measured by evaluating the impact of the training on the organisation's bottom line. This can be determined by comparing the costs of training to the benefits derived from improved employee performance and productivity.
Manager Feedback: The feedback of managers on the effectiveness of the training programs can also be used as a KPI. This can help identify areas for improvement and determine the impact of the training on the organization as a whole.
