Job Description
- The 3D Quality Assurance Specialist will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the quality of our 3D models, with a particular focus on modelling and texturing. The candidate will be responsible for reviewing, testing, and providing feedback on 3D assets, ensuring they meet the highest standards of accuracy, detail, and visual appeal. Key Responsibilities: Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of 3D models and textures to ensure they meet company standards and client specifications. Identify any discrepancies or defects in modeling and texturing and provide detailed feedback to the production team. Ensure consistency and accuracy in all 3D assets, focusing on geometry, UV mapping, texture resolution, and material application. Collaboration: Work closely with 3D artists, modelers, and texture specialists to communicate quality expectations and resolve any issues. Participate in project meetings to discuss quality concerns and suggest improvements to workflows and processes. Documentation: Develop and maintain quality assurance checklists and guidelines specific to modeling and texturing. Document quality issues and track resolutions to ensure continuous improvement in the production pipeline. Testing: Perform visual and technical tests on 3D models and textures using industry-standard software and tools. Ensure models are optimized for performance without compromising on quality, particularly in real-time rendering environments. Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, tools, and techniques in 3D modeling and texturing. Recommend and implement new quality assurance practices to enhance overall production quality. Requirements: Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in 3D modeling and texturing. Strong understanding of 3D asset creation processes, including modeling, UV mapping, texturing, and material setup. Skills: Proficiency in industry-standard 3D software such as Autodesk Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, and texturing tools like Substance Painter, Photoshop, or similar. Excellent attention to detail and a strong eye for aesthetics and visual quality. Ability to critique and provide constructive feedback on 3D models and textures. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Self-motivated and proactive in identifying and resolving quality issues.
