Lead Specialty Software Engineer @ Wells Fargo

This role will be a hands-on Lead Specialty Software Engineer for a data and analytics team that is part of Electronic Trading Technology. Electronic trading business supports Equities, Macro, and Spread low touch trading flows. The technology team is working on several products that will transform the Wells Fargo Securities business at a large scale. The upcoming focus is on delivering a cross-asset trading platform for Cash Credit and FX businesses. Strategic real time and end of day data analytics platform, and associated analytics are crucial for our trading capabilities. The products we build will satisfy ever growing regulatory and client reporting (e.g., TCA) needs and open new revenue opportunities for our businesses by offering cross-asset trading.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Work closely with the US team, build products in a global delivery model, and help transform the platform to support multi and cross-asset use cases, growing data volume and complex analytics needs. Collaborate in defining the target architecture.
Ensure that the deliverables are on time, within estimates and of high quality and are following expected SDLC.
Design and develop applications, tools and processes to ensure high performance, reliability, testability and supportability.
Pay attention to latency and throughput and identify ways to improve system performance through re-engineering, application of new/relevant technologies.
Work with application support teams to ensure timely resolution of issues.

Required skills/experience:
10+ years in information technology industry, including 5+ years hands-on experience in Big Data Technologies.
3+ years of Capital Markets technology experience (preferably in EQ/FX/FI Electronic trading) in data space with one of the leading financial services firm.
Hands on experience developing large scale data/analytics platform using latest technologies including Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Caching products (primary skills).
Hand on experience of working in Java, Scala and/or Python (secondary skills).
Direct experience with dev ops tools/practices such as Jira, confluence, automated regression testing
Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously.
Familiarity with build/ release processes and performance testing tools.
Strong communication skills.
Engineering degree from a tier 1/2 institute in Computer Science or related filed.

Desired skills/experience:
Experience of developing large scale data solutions using cloud infrastructure
Direct experience with Agile development practice
Direct experience with MongoDB
Exposure to time series databases like OneTikc or KDB is a plus
