We have been retained by one of our clients, to hire Appliance Service Technician- 2 Positions . Position is based out of British Columbia, Canada.
ABOUT OUR CLIENT
Our client is a leading Furniture & Appliances store and has locations all across Canada.
They run their operations with a family-focused approach and because of this, they are respected as the go-to location for furniture, electronics, mattresses, appliances, and home accessories. The store offers both Canadian and imported furniture, electronics, mattresses, and appliances from an array of reputable manufacturers. As a reseller of all kinds of appliances including Refrigerators, Stoves, Dishwashers, ovens, and washing machines, there is growing demand from their customers to provide service facilities as well. To fulfill this requirement of their customers, they are expanding their team, and looking for Appliance Service Technicians (2 positions).
JOB DUTIES
Duties of Appliance Service Technician include but not limited to:
- Repairs major electrical or gas appliances, such as domestic and commercial dishwashing equipment, stoves, laundry equipment and refrigerators in customer's home or place of business
- Consult customer or refer to work order to establish nature of the appliance malfunction
- Diagnose faults by checking controls, condensers, timer sequences, fans and other components using test equipment such as meters and gauges to measure resistance, current, voltage, pressure, temperature, flue gases and flow rates
- Refer to schematic diagrams or product manuals and disassemble appliance using hand tools
- Use hand tools and other equipment and specialized diagnostic and programming apparatus to repair, adjust and reprogram appliances
- Replace components and subcomponents and reassemble appliances using hand tools and soldering and brazing equipment
- Prepare estimates and written accounts of work performed
- Plan service routes
- Any other related duties, as assigned
QUALIFICATION & SKILLS
- Bachelors degree in any stream
- Completion of a college program in appliance repair OR Completion of a three-or four-year apprenticeship program in appliance repair.
- Excellent command over English language
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 4-5 Years of experience in servicing or repairing major appliances is required
- Knowledge of all home appliances installation and repair is required
WORK CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES
- Physically demanding, Handling heavy loads, Standing for extended periods, Bending, crouching, kneeling, and Fast- paced environment

- Organized, Initiative, Team-player, Dependability, Effective interpersonal skills, Excellent written & oral communication
