We're looking for a self-driven enthusiastic aspirant who is having in depth knowledge about Payroll for our Compensation & Benefits team.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Full Oversight of Payroll operations & governance for approximately 5000 employees.
  • Manage payroll operations for the organization's employees and manage a team of 5+ working across geographies and remotely.
  • Provide insight and analysis to stakeholders including leadership in India and US.
  • Drive the transformation and modernization of the payroll function by leveraging technology to automate process and reporting.
  • Responsible for the planning and execution of payroll to continue to ensure accuracy, compliance, and audit level integrity.
  • Prepare and adhere to payroll SOP. Revise and update SOP as necessary to streamline processes and to improve the speed and accuracy of payroll completion.
  • Prepare various reports and MIS on payroll for financial and regulatory reporting.
  • Develop policies and procedures that stand up to the rigor of external audit and IFC (internal financial controls) requirements.
  • Manage audits and risk assessments as directed.
  • Partner with all functional leaders and HRBPs to understand their requirements; provide thoughtful insights and support.
  • Periodically review existing practices and recommend changes for improvements.
  • Analyze data, perform compensation modelling and what if analyses.
  • Define and follow optimal processes for data management.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to provide timely advice, direction, and recommendations to Senior Management on compensation structure, benefits and policy interpretations
  • Manage employee insurance lifecycle including coordinating with Compliance & Risk manager to establish the benefits framework and ensuring timely closure of renewals of all group insurance policies.
  • Demonstrate passion for employee wellbeing by delivering a competitive benefit package.
  • Manage and promote employee assistance programs and wellness activities in the organization
  • Interact positively and productively with all levels of employees.
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
  • Maintain an employee friendly and legally compliant compensation structure.
  • Implement and manage performance linked incentive programs.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • A solid understanding of payroll processes and state, local laws pertaining to payroll administration. (Indian Legislation)
  • Extensive HRMS and Payroll back-end API experience
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software with the ability to learn new or updated software.
  • Ability to work independently while also being focused on team success and collaboration.
  • Experience of handling captive payroll operation is added advantage
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, especially with strong MS Excel and Power Point working and presentation skills
  • Self-starter who can work independently with high level guidance and direction.
  • Ability to work evenings/mornings as needed to meet with US team members.

Education and Experience:

  • An MBA/ PGDM or equivalent post graduate degree in HR
  • At least 15yrs experience into HR Operations and at least 10 yrs. of experience in Payroll.
  • At least 5 years in a management role
  • Experience working in an MNC a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
