About the role:
This role is based in the Pune RD Center, at SAS RD Pune facility. The candidate will work as a Project Manager for products that are part of retail offerings by SAS. As a Project Manager, candidate will be responsible for all aspects of project management: the direction, planning and estimation, coordination, implementation, execution, and completion of specific projects while ensuring consistency with SAS overall strategy, commitments, and goals.
Furthermore, you will be joining a friendly team with a broad range of cross skills and experience.

Primary Responsibilities
- Partner with development, test and product management in a shared responsibility for the success of the project.
- Initiate project by facilitating the project kickoff. The goal of this event is to ensure team members and stakeholders have a shared understanding of an agreement with the high-level project scope and goals.
- Work with the project team to develop the project plan. The plan becomes the foundation for the ongoing tracking and oversight of the project. The complexity of the plan will depend on the complexity of the project. The plan will cover the following areas:
- Project tasks and schedule that are integrated with the Software Development Process. This will include all project tasks, not just those performed by the core project team. Examples are release engineering, legal, publications, performance testing, etc.
- Resource assignments and assessment of additional resource needs
- Communications matrix
- Change control process
- Coach and facilitate team through agile practices. This may include iteration planning, scrums, end of iteration demos and retrospectives, and backlog grooming. Project managers may serve as scrum masters, if requested, by the team but not required.
- Track the progress of the project against the plan. When actual status deviates from the plan, work with development and testing management to determine and implement corrective actions. Examples of potential corrective actions include reduction in scope, adjustments of timelines, reassignment of resources, etc.
- On an ongoing basis, work with the team to identify project risks and develop mitigation plans to address these risks.
- Provide a central point of contact for the extended project interfaces. Communicate with the project team, management and supporting stakeholders to ensure that project tasks are being completed, handoffs to other groups are successful and the project is moving forward.
- Provide adequate visibility into the overall health of the project via status reporting and project reviews.
- Coordinate deliverables reviews as appropriate. At a minimum, this would include requirements and design reviews.
- Manage change requests, working with the team to assess the impact of requested changes.
- Manage project interfaces with other groups and divisions (e.g., other RD divisions, Pubs, Legal, Tech Support).
- Liaison with the Release Engineering division to ensure deployment activities are on task.
- Coordinate readiness assessments to provide project readiness reviews for releases
- Coordinate signoff for releases
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Background and Experience
SAS is seeking a software project manager with hands-on experience of 10 years in software project management using agile methodology. Candidate should have proven Analytical problem-solving skills, excellent verbal written communication skills and ability to address small large audiences when required
Experience of working in Global software organizations engaged in provision of large software development.
