Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
- Define test plan and testcases based on product and technical requirements.
- Must have a passion for quality and a bias towards speed.
- Must be a motivated self-starter with a short learning curve.
- Must be able to learn new technical areas quickly.
- Ability to communicate effectively Verbal & Written strong.
- Participate in requirements, design and functional specification reviews at varying levels within the system
- Testing software results against the railway system logs
- Should work on Back-end, Regression, Sanity, System Integration, Functional and Load Testing on Server/Client based systems
- Working closely with the internal and external design/test teams in identifying problems
- Document identified problems with enough detail and in a manner, that supports resolution
- Produce periodic status and operational reports
- Testing in different environments including web and mobile.
- Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing
- Help troubleshoot issues, Problem Solving, providing objective feedback to software development project teams
- Make independent technical contributions in-support of program objectives, Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
Requirements/Qualifications:
- A Masters degree/Bachelors in a computer science or computer engineering
- 5 - 8 years of related software test engineering experience with hands on experience testing/debugging software
- Experience and understanding of the operational interworkings of computer information systems and database management systems used to support complex ntiered systems
- DB knowledge SQL/MySQL
- UNIX OS- basic commands.
- Experience in Agile methodology or Agile methodology knowledge.
- Knowledge or experience in programming languages, preferably Java.
- Must be a good team player.
- Experience in all stages of solution testing of complex products and platforms
test execution, results analysis and corrective actions
- Experience in analyzing system requirements in a test environment.
- Experience preparing test design documents, test plans, test procedures, etc.
- Basic SQL Knowledge and DSL Query Knowledge is MUST
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux
- Well versed with testing concepts like SDLC, STLC and Agile Process
- Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to articulate clearly and concisely
- Self-driven, quick learner, results-oriented and a clear focus on high quality
- Experience with application lifecycle management tools and software change management, requirements management and traceability, test case development and workflow management
- Experience in any defect tracking tool
Preferred but not Required:
- Experience in developing programmatic solutions for test automation. Selenium knowledge or experience.
- Must have developed test automation framework from scratch.
- Certification (optional) will be preferred
- Nice to have Transportation field knowledge specifically Railroads.
