Senior Principal Engineer Product Owner for Digital Software System
Summary:
Baxter has long been on the forefront of developing innovative solutions for patients with kidney disease. This position offers a unique and exciting opportunity to play the role of an agile product owner who is the leader responsible for maximizing the value of the Baxter s Cloud based software within Acute GBU. The Cloud based software will support inter connectivity of CRRT & other medical devices (Internet-of-Things IoT ) within IC, will support both Clinical & Service solutions, analytics components enabling improved clinical outcomes & deep insights.
You will be responsible for product backlog to drive product development for new and existing components of the Acute Connectivity portfolio. The successful candidate will possess solid experience, demonstrate excitement and energy for product development and a passion for their work and the impact it has on meeting the needs of patients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contributes to the product vision, roadmap & differentiation strategy
- Gathers, manages & prioritizes the product backlog, creates, manages user stories and with clear acceptance criteria
- Drive communications with customers and marketing to develop and refine user requirements.
- Creates product & system requirement documents, UI Mockup s or Wireframes
- Effectively communicates product & system requirements to software developers, testers, and suppliers.
- Participates in the development and documentation of the product systems architecture, systems level design, including the decomposition of the system architecture and requirements into functional specifications.
- Develop the Risk Management Plan and execute the Risk Management activities defined by the plan.
- Manage integration of deliverables from design teams and external partners.
- Resolve competing constraints between interrelated functions (engineering, clinical, regulatory and marketing etc.) required to deliver the product to market.
- Document traceability from requirements to verification activities and from requirements to design entities.
- Develop and maintain an effective and corroborative working relationship with internal and external development partners.
- Provide leadership to effectively transition the product to production and ensure robust products and deployment processes.
- Consistently tracks iterations progress for the release of the final product
Qualifications:
- Played product management roles in the past
- Experience working on at least one medical product project end-to-end
- Experience on Digital Cloud Space
- Demonstrated experience working with external/internal stakeholders to elicit product requirements and convert them to backlog user stories.
- Strong background in systems engineering, requirements elicitation, user workflow analysis/studies
- Knowledge of medical device software development is highly preferred including knowledge of standards such as IEC 62304, ISO 14971
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
- Experienced and demonstrated superior global collaboration
- Demonstrates spirit of innovation
- Strong communication, influencing & conflict management skills
- Demonstrated risk taking ability and challenging status quo
- Good experience in JIRA tool
- Exposure to Big Data, data analytics is a plus.
- Working knowledge of Behavior driven design & development
Background and/or Experience:
Bachelors / Masters in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering or related field and 15+ years of related experience.
