Are you the one that we are looking for
Inviting applications for the role of Lead Associate: SQL engineer
Responsibilities:- Well versed in database performance tuning, especially SQL tuning
- Skilled in backups & recovery. MySQL dump backups and Enterprise backups and file system backups
- 24 7 production support experience
- Intimate with SQL language
- Experience MySQL 5.x, 8.x, Maria DB and MySQL cluster (group replication) a plus
- Replication: master-slave, master-master-slave, various binary logging formats
- Restoring point-in-time, restore a master using MEB backups
- Backups: table, databases, utilities needed for backing up, effects on table types
- Query tuning: adding/removing indexes, rewriting queries for better performance. sql profiler
- Configuration tuning: for query and overall database performance
- Installation on Linux OS and upgrades on Linux OS
- Intermediate knowledge of Linux with regard to moving and compressing files, creating users, simple troubleshooting
- Good knowledge on MySQL supported storage engines Myisam, InnoDB, memory
- Mentoring
- Experience in the following areas is strongly preferred (but not mandatory):
- Familiar with ETL tools
- Amazon RDS and EC2
- Some experience with cluster, both NDB and Galera and group replication
- Monitoring tools installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
- OEM, MEM MySQL monitoring tools install and configuration
- Some knowledge of *nix OS tuning is helpful
- MySQL DBA Certifications would be a plus
- Miscellaneous required knowledge:
- Familiarity with scripting and should able to write scripts to monitor and automate DB related tasks
Qualifications we seek in you
- Bachelors Degree required. Preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Very good written and presentation / verbal communication skills with experience of customer interfacing role. In-depth requirement understanding skills with good analytical and problem solving ability, interpersonal efficiency, and positive attitude
