Job Responsibilities

Provide Primary support for PostgreSQL and MongoDB

Troubleshoot database service outages as they occur, escalate using escalation

matrix

Provide night on-call after-hours and weekend support

When performance issues arise, determine the most effective way to increase

performance including

resource recommendations, server configuration changes, or index/query changes

Configure advance monitoring tools/PowerShell to minimize false alarms

Making sure the information is protected and backed-up to meet business RPO

and RTO and ensuring all

the data complies with legal regulations

Support env using high availability using Barman/Pgdump/clusters and

implemented on

VMWare/Kubernetes

Using PowerShell to automate Installation and configuration of new Servers

Improvise process for onboarding and upgrade/migrate existing servers

Document the companys database environment and step by step troubleshooting

steps for common

issues

Use high-quality data to make better decisions than experience alone can deliver,

transforming raw

performance metrics into meaningful, actionable information to accelerated problem

resolution, problem

prevention, maximizing hardware resources, reducing risk during change

To do a great job in this position, experience should include:

You should have been the one person that the company would call if the

PostgreSQL/Mongodb service

stopped working for your in-depth technical expertise on PostgreSQL/Mongodb

Experience with IT operations supporting 24x7 client facing production db servers

Some experience with MongoDB and PostgreSQL

Team player. Recognizes the bigger picture, demonstrated task prioritization and

understands the value

of teamwork

Demonstrated excellent communication skills, written and verbal, including

experience with technical

documentation

Used premade scripts/queries extensively to answer questions about server-level

performance along with

using diff tools

Knowledge to script and automate using PowerShell or other

Keeps technical management informed by preparing reports on system

performance and problems.

Accomplishes successful and smooth database upgrades and migrations.

Updates job knowledge by reading professional publications; maintaining personal

networks; participating

in professional organizations
