Network engineers can work on components and equipment for many industries including healthcare, power, transport, and water. Job responsibilities vary greatly according to the size and type of employer. However, duties typically include:
Role: Sr. Network engineers / Jr. Network engineers
Experience: 0 to 5 years
Job Type: Full time
Qualification: B.E/B.Tech / Diploma
Key skills: Good team leader and interpersonal
Assessing project requirements
Measuring the performance of mechanical components, devices, and engines
Agreeing on budgets, timescales, and specifications with clients and managers
Maintaining and modifying equipment to ensure that it is safe, reliable, and efficient
Using computer-aided design/modeling software
Liaising with suppliers
Undertaking relevant research.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. First level trouble-shooting of all network issues
2. Every incident has to be attended by L1 Engineers and basic troubleshooting should be done within one hour from the receipt of the ticket either through mail/SMS/telephone call/NMS Tool.
3. Day-to-day maintenance of all network equipment etc. as per SLA.
4. Configuration, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting of all types of Network links within LIC.
5. Identify issues in LAN/Hotline/IP-Telephony etc. and assist in its resolution.
6. Network equipment installation at the locations where Network Engineers are based if required.
7. Manage Network equipment configuration
8. Troubleshooting and debugging of problems if any
9. Changes in the configuration on the Network devices
10. Monitoring of QoS performance
11. Liaisons with the field personnel/channel partners/service providers for prompt resolution of problems and ensure best site-uptimes and net- uptimes.
12. Liasoning with the LIC-users for prompt resolution of problems
13. The L1 should be placed at LIC premises during LICs office hours. However, the hours may be extended whenever required.
14. If the performance is not up to the mark, the Personnel may have to be changed, if LIC so requests.
Desired Candidate Profile
BE/BTech/Diploma in Engg. or MCA/BSc-IT/BSc-Computers
valid CCNA certification in Routing and Switching Should have worked in organizations having more than 100 offices or in Tier- 3 data centers.
Role Switching/Router Engineer.
Industry Type IT-Hardware & Networking.
